1948 Denver Franklin 90% Silver Half Dollar Very Good to Extremely Fine (VG/XF) Condition Coin

The Benjamin Franklin half dollar was designed by John R. Sinnock, Whose initials appear below the shoulder. Mint Director Nellie Tayloe Ross had long been a proponent of memorializing Franklin on a U.S. Coin. On the reverse, the tiny eagle was included to satisfy the Mint Act of 1873.

Franklin Half Dollars were struck in 90% silver with a new weight of .36169 ounces of pure silver. It has seen varying degrees of circulation, which is reflected in its grade which indicates the coin is worn but still retains significant detail, placing it between a heavily worn coin and one that is almost uncirculated.
